Hours and hours

Hey. Ive spent hours online looking at fish in the past couple of days. I am in love with my goldies, and they are doing great, but I'd really like to try some other breeds as well. I know I mentioned this in a  previous post as well, but I'm obsessed! I don't have much time, but please tell me what you think: I'm getting a ten-gallon tank, appropriate decor, and a twenty-five gallon filter, and a heater(I don't know what kind yet =)). I'm going to get a male and a female turquoise guppy and try to breed them, or two guppies, and not breed them, and some Glofish. I'm very excited about this, so please tell me what you think. I've looked on yahoo and everything and seen other people be yelled at- but please if you have some constructive criticism, say it nicely!

Bubbles!

Bubbles is doing great. I am weirdly obsessed with fish now, and I can't figure out what it is about them that fascinate me so much. I'm looking at a ten-gallon tank for a small-community fresh-water tank. I'm trying to decide which- and how many- of four breeds. I'm smitten with the Turquoise Guppies that I've been watching in the pet store. They also give birth to live young, which is really really cool. I'm also considering a couple Kribensis Fish, also for their unnique parenting habits. The Platy is also a very cool fish, because its hard to kill them with beginner mistakes. The last fish I've been looking at for a while are Glofish. These are absolutely the coolest little fishes I have ever ever seen. A ten gallon tank should house a couple Glofish, a couple kribensis, and two turquoise guppies, as all fish are incredibly small.

Regardless of what fish I pick, I'm extremely excited to get a ten gallon aquarium. Right now I'm thinking when I get it, I'll just start with a couple Turquoise Guppies. I'll stock slowely after that, but I am very excited. Hope fully I'll end up with two Turquoise Guppies, two Kribs, and a couple Platties.

Yes, I do plan to keep my tank very filtered and clean. I'll do partial water changes as needed and I have atleast two filters that I'll use if the one doesn't work well enough. None of the fish I've been considering grow to anymore then two inches. They should be fine if I feed the right way, keep the water clean, and avoid any obvious mistakes.

   Wish me luck!!!

New Friend

I got Bubbles his friend! She's a little orange fishy with black fins and a black spot on her face. I call her spot. So now bubbles and his half-inch friend are happy in their aquarium.

Tank?

Hi! When I got Bubbles, he was in a 1.7 gal tank. I know if there are any experienced goldfish keepers on here then they will absolutely die when they here this because "it is just so cruel!". I know it's probably not big enough, so the night I got him I set up my 5 gal tank. Yes, I know many goldfish keepers are still going nuts. I will get him a bigger tank if I need to, but this fish is almost nine months old and has lived in a 1.7 gal tank for its life, so it may already be stunted. I don't know but I will get a bigger tank if and when I need to. But Bubbles has been in his 1.7 gal tank for at least six months and it was not my fault, but he is doing just fine. He's about two inches long, and doesn't have all that much room to race around his tank, but he's got enough. I'm putting him in his 5 gal fish tank tomorrow (after aerating it for three days) and I will have both filter systems in this tank. One is an under-gravel filter and it came with the under-gravel filter. The other filter is one that sticks to the side of the tank and came with the tank he is in now. I do plan to put both filter systems in there. I have a few decorations to put in one corner of the tank and the rest will be let open swimming space. I'm thinking this should be okay for him at least for now. His 1.7 gal is def too small and I know people will probably get mad at me for this post, but I don't have access to a bigger tank at the moment. So here's my plan:
"Five gallons, with an under-gravel filtration system and another side-cling filtration system. I will decorate one corner of his tank so he can hide, and then leave at least 3/4ths of it open swimming space. I will keep feeding to a minimum to avoid over-feeding too badly."

I know probably nobody reads my blog, but if you do please comment and leave your constructive critisism. Don't worry, I've loked at hundreds of websites and heard other people being chewed-out for keeping their goldfish in smaller tanks, but I only have access to the 5 gal right now.

Thanks for any help you might have,
xoxo Em

Bubbles

Hey there! So I got a fish from my best friend a couple days ago and I am absolutely in love with him! Here's the back story.

My friend won a goldfish at our school carnival and took it home. She expected him to die, but when it lived for about a week she went and got a friend for it. The first fish was named Peeta and the second is Bubbles. Well, Peeta died and so my friend was left with Bubbles. She had him for about six months before her mom told her to get rid of it. So rather then flushing him down the toilet, she gave him to me. I am absolutely intrigued by this fish and I started this blog so that I can keep records of his day-to-day life-stile.

I'm hoping to get him a friend/mate and breed them so that I can start a little goldfish "farm" for lack of a better word. now I know what your probably thinking. "That's cute, this little girl probably has never had a pet before so she thinks her goldfish is so great." Wrong. I'm thirteen and have lots of pets-including previous goldfish. I have chickens, dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, and now a fish too. I like this fish a lot he's cute and very energetic. Well this is pretty much it to my first entry.
